The Power of Consistency in Business: Unleashing the Rule of 100 and Momentum
In the fast-paced world of business, consistency is often the key to achieving long-term success. Consistency refers to the act of repeatedly delivering high-quality results, meeting customer expectations, and maintaining a steadfast commitment to your core values and objectives. In this blog post, we will explore the importance of consistency in business, introduce the Rule of 100, and highlight the momentum that can be gained through a consistent approach.
The Importance of Consistency
Consistency is the foundation upon which trust, reliability, and reputation are built. It establishes credibility with customers, employees, and stakeholders, making it easier to attract and retain loyal relationships. When your customers know they can rely on you to consistently deliver exceptional products or services, they are more likely to choose you over your competitors.
Consistency also fosters efficiency and effectiveness within your organization. By implementing consistent processes and procedures, you can streamline operations, minimize errors, and optimize productivity. Consistency creates a framework for success, allowing your team to work cohesively towards shared goals and objectives.
The Rule of 100: Small Actions, Big Impact
The Rule of 100 states that small, consistent actions, when repeated 100 times, can yield significant results. In other words, it emphasizes the power of incremental progress and the cumulative effect it has on your business. Consistently taking small steps towards your goals, day after day, can lead to substantial achievements in the long run.
For example, imagine a business owner who commits to reaching out to five new potential customers every day. Over the course of 100 days, they would have made 500 connections and significantly expanded their network. This consistent effort can lead to increased sales, partnerships, and business opportunities.
Momentum Through Consistency
Consistency generates momentum, propelling your business forward and making it easier to achieve future success. When you consistently deliver quality products or services, you build a positive reputation and attract more customers. Satisfied customers become brand advocates, spreading the word and bringing in new business through referrals.
Consistency also fosters innovation and growth. By consistently evaluating your processes, products, and customer feedback, you can identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes. This continuous improvement cycle keeps your business agile, adaptable, and ahead of the competition.
Tips for Cultivating Consistency
Clearly Define Your Vision: Establish a clear vision for your business and communicate it to your team. A shared vision provides a sense of purpose and direction, guiding everyone towards a common goal.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures: Create standardized processes and procedures that ensure consistency in how tasks are performed. Document these procedures and train your team members to follow them consistently.
Prioritize Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure that your products or services consistently meet or exceed customer expectations. Regularly evaluate and refine your quality standards to stay ahead of the market.
Foster a Culture of Accountability: Encourage individual and team accountability for consistently delivering results. Set measurable goals and provide feedback and recognition for consistent performance.
Embrace Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences, and emerging technologies. Continuously invest in learning and development opportunities for yourself and your team to stay ahead of the curve.
Conclusion
Consistency is the secret ingredient to long-term success in business. By consistently delivering quality, embracing the Rule of 100, and leveraging the momentum gained through consistent efforts, you can build trust, attract loyal customers, and achieve your goals. Embrace consistency as a core value in your business, and watch as it propels you towards greater heights of success.
Remember, it\\\'s the small, consistent actions that add up over time. Stay committed, stay focused, and harness the power of consistency to create a thriving and sustainable business.
Start your journey towards consistency today, and unlock the transformative power it holds for your business.

00:00:00:05 - 00:00:02:16 Welcome to the Chamber Members podcast.
00:00:02:16 - 00:00:05:15 During our short 15 an episode, we\\\'ll go over
00:00:05:15 - 00:00:08:15 a business tip of the week chamber announcements.
00:00:08:18 - 00:00:11:06 We\\\'ll get to hear a story of another special guest,
00:00:11:06 - 00:00:14:06 Josh with Pedal Stomper Productions.
00:00:19:20 - 00:00:20:02 First,
00:00:20:02 - 00:00:23:02 I\\\'d like to mention real quick, if you are a chamber member
00:00:23:04 - 00:00:26:19 and you\\\'d like to be featured on podcast, upcoming podcasts here this summer, later
00:00:26:19 - 00:00:27:13 this fall.
00:00:27:13 - 00:00:30:16 Feel free to reach out to myself or Sean and we\\\'ll get you
00:00:30:17 - 00:00:33:17 get you on the schedule.
00:00:33:18 - 00:00:35:07 Now for our business tip for the week.
00:00:35:07 - 00:00:38:04 Sean with SBS Consulting Systems.
00:00:38:04 - 00:00:42:03 So today we\\\'re going to talk about goal setting and 90 day goals in particular.
00:00:42:16 - 00:00:45:23 Many goals are very important to grow your business because it helps
00:00:46:00 - 00:00:50:06 set guidelines for where you want to go and develop micro strategies to
00:00:50:11 - 00:00:51:19 to get there.
00:00:51:19 - 00:00:54:08 Studies have shown that 90 day goals are pretty much the best ones
00:00:54:08 - 00:00:55:12 that you can have because
00:00:55:12 - 00:00:58:21 after about 90 days, your attention and your focus starts to wane.
00:00:58:21 - 00:01:03:16 So if you set a goal, 90 day goal, and then each 90 days review it and set
00:01:03:16 - 00:01:05:14 another goal, you can really start to build
00:01:05:14 - 00:01:07:18 some momentum, start to have some successes
00:01:07:18 - 00:01:10:18 and really start to grow and to build your business.
00:01:11:04 - 00:01:14:07 One thing we do at SBS Consulting systems is once
00:01:14:07 - 00:01:17:21 we set these 90 day goals, we then go and set weekly goals of how to
00:01:17:21 - 00:01:21:17 or what I call micro strategies on how to achieve these 90 day goals
00:01:21:17 - 00:01:24:17 and really to implement them and to grow your business from there.
00:01:24:23 - 00:01:26:17 So like I said, we can help you with those,
00:01:26:17 - 00:01:28:00 but this is the tip of the week.
00:01:28:00 - 00:01:30:02 SBS Consulting sits And I\\\'m Sean Hetrick.
00:01:31:04 - 00:01:33:00 Thank you, Sean.
00:01:33:00 - 00:01:35:02 Josh, thanks for joining us this week.
00:01:35:02 - 00:01:36:08 Thank you guys for having me.
00:01:36:08 - 00:01:39:12 It\\\'s it\\\'s weird being out here. Yeah.
00:01:40:00 - 00:01:41:11 Look at you from a different angle.
00:14:33:17 - 00:14:35:21 It was tough for me to get that going.
00:14:35:21 - 00:14:40:03 But once I got a couple of people in there like, Oh my God, this is amazing.
00:14:40:03 - 00:14:43:23 And I was like, Oh, maybe, maybe this can work pretty good.
00:14:44:19 - 00:14:46:04 Maybe this can work.
00:14:46:04 - 00:14:48:18 And it\\\'s been it\\\'s been great since, really.
00:14:48:18 - 00:14:49:16 Has it?
00:14:52:00 - 00:14:55:02 So is there a particular moment or event
00:14:55:02 - 00:14:58:08 that kind of changed your business other than the video podcast?
00:14:58:08 - 00:15:00:16 Is it getting started or
00:15:00:16 - 00:15:03:21 in that, you know, close to a million views on your on your YouTube
00:15:03:21 - 00:15:07:05 channel or, you know, it\\\'s there was a moment when
00:15:08:12 - 00:15:11:23 I had decided that, look, I\\\'m going to do this full time,
00:15:12:04 - 00:15:15:13 and I wasn\\\'t sure how it was going to go.
00:15:15:17 - 00:15:19:23 There was a lot of question marks and I had been talking
00:15:19:23 - 00:15:24:06 with a very large company up in Valley View about doing some videos for them,
00:15:24:21 - 00:15:28:09 and I was just basically talking with the people,
00:15:28:09 - 00:15:31:20 the position that I was leaving saying, Yup, I\\\'m out of here.
00:15:31:20 - 00:15:33:14 I got to do this full time for myself.
00:15:33:14 - 00:15:35:04 I got to go on my own.
00:15:35:04 - 00:15:40:02 And as I am literally on my way to that meeting to tell them I\\\'m leaving,
00:15:40:13 - 00:15:43:11 the phone rings and it is that client up in Valley View
00:15:43:11 - 00:15:46:02 and he goes, Yup, we are going to do this with you.
00:15:46:02 - 00:15:49:02 And at that point I walked into that meeting
00:15:49:07 - 00:15:53:06 with a whole different perspective on this is how this is going to go.
00:15:53:06 - 00:15:56:04 And they\\\'ve been great to work with, phenomenal company.
00:15:56:04 - 00:15:57:23 I absolutely love it.
00:15:57:23 - 00:16:00:13 And it\\\'s that moment where I was like,
00:16:00:13 - 00:16:03:14 there\\\'s that clarification that, yep, this can happen.
00:16:04:06 - 00:16:08:18 I love seeing business owners just go for it and yeah, succeed that way.
00:16:09:02 - 00:16:14:14 Oh it\\\'s, it\\\'s I always liken owning a business to a roller coaster ride
00:16:14:14 - 00:16:17:23 because you one minute you\\\'re like, Oh, this is exhilarating.
00:16:17:23 - 00:16:18:20 This is amazing.
00:16:18:20 - 00:16:21:12 And the next minute you\\\'re like, Oh, this is how I die.
00:16:21:12 - 00:16:21:21 Yeah,
00:16:23:01 - 00:16:25:02 I fall all on your shoulders.
00:16:25:02 - 00:16:25:18 Right? Right.
00:16:25:18 - 00:16:28:18 That\\\'s it for sure.
00:16:29:02 - 00:16:31:00 What\\\'s been like your favorite customer
00:16:31:00 - 00:16:34:00 or favorite job or project you\\\'ve done?
00:16:34:08 - 00:16:36:03 I have to say.
00:16:36:03 - 00:16:37:20 I mean,
00:16:37:20 - 00:16:39:16 it\\\'s always the last project that I\\\'ve done.
00:16:39:16 - 00:16:40:10 For the most part.
00:16:40:10 - 00:16:44:06 There\\\'s there\\\'s I\\\'ve got two or three right now that I am so pumped
00:16:44:06 - 00:16:47:06 to be involved in
00:16:47:07 - 00:16:50:22 one of my favorites, I have to say, is with the Barton Community Foundation.
00:16:50:22 - 00:16:53:22 We we do their Game Changer awards every year.
00:16:54:11 - 00:16:57:18 We do the videos that they do use for those to announce those
00:16:57:18 - 00:17:00:23 and the people that I have met through that that are working
00:17:00:23 - 00:17:05:02 so hard to change this community to me is is awesome.
00:17:05:02 - 00:17:07:02 The fact that I get connected with people like that
00:17:07:02 - 00:17:10:00 and I get to talk to people like that and I get to tell their stories, that
00:17:11:00 - 00:17:13:07 that makes it kind of my favorite videos to do.
00:17:13:07 - 00:17:15:03 And I get to do it every year.
00:17:15:03 - 00:17:18:03 It\\\'s awesome, right?
00:17:18:18 - 00:17:21:18 What advice would you give other small business owners?
00:17:22:11 - 00:17:26:09 That\\\'s always a big question because I don\\\'t want to be responsible.
00:17:26:09 - 00:17:29:09 If they mess it is.
00:17:29:23 - 00:17:32:13 I got to go with Shawn on this.
00:17:32:13 - 00:17:35:14 It\\\'s go for it. You you need to go for it.
00:17:35:14 - 00:17:39:03 If someone has said, boy, you should start a business with that.
00:17:39:11 - 00:17:42:19 Go for it. Yeah. Look at the numbers.
00:17:42:19 - 00:17:46:00 Make sure that the math makes sense, but go for it.
00:17:46:01 - 00:17:49:01 If it\\\'s remotely possible, do it.
00:17:49:09 - 00:17:50:06 Yeah.
00:17:50:06 - 00:17:52:00 Awesome. Great.
00:17:52:00 - 00:17:54:05 Great advice.
