Introducing Sean Hetrick, an accomplished technology professional with a wealth of expertise in server and network support, development, and implementation. Armed with a Master of Business Administration degree from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University, Sean has established himself as a proficient troubleshooter in a wide range of hardware and software platforms.
In the early 2000s, after completing his MBA from Cleveland State University, Sean made the decision to leave his IT support position at the prestigious Jones Day global law firm and return to his hometown of Minerva, OH, to start SBS Consulting. His first project was to assist a local business in expanding its online presence, resulting in tripled sales. However, despite the revenue boost, the company was still struggling with internal issues that led to a substantial negative net income. Sean resolved this issue by implementing financial, inventory, and accounting controls and reporting systems, which allowed for real-time monitoring and analysis. These measures paved the way for the company to become profitable.
Subsequently, Sean became a board member of the Minerva Chamber of Commerce and the Carroll County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and actively participated in local meetings to identify areas of economic growth. During this time, he noticed that the area’s artists and artisans were leaving the town due to a lack of performance opportunities. Given that the town of Minerva was economically depressed, with over 75% of its downtown being empty storefronts, Sean saw an opportunity to make a positive impact.
Sean founded the Minerva Community Theater 501c3, and with the help of the board, they began hosting a variety of events, including art shows, battle of the bands, free movies in the park, Octoberfest, dinner theaters, and plays, among others. These events created a sense of community and led to an economic revival in the area. Consequently, the once-vacant storefronts are now filled, the downtown theater is undergoing renovations, and the community has established a full-time gallery, Octoberfest, and other park events. Sean’s efforts at SBS Consulting and the Minerva Community Theater have had a significant impact on the local economy and the community.
